The role of the state of the art in the investigative process

Abstract

The elaboration of this work arose from the interest in knowing more about the concept of the state of the art, which is considered an essential element that must be considered for the beginning of any investigation, since the extent to which that said element is constructed effectively, can lay important foundations for the best approach to the problem to be solved in any discipline of science. For this research, a search for information on the subject was carried out in various databases, and a review of various sources on research methodology was also resorted to. As a conclusion of the work, it is observed that there is not enough bibliography in this regard, so it is recommended to continue investigating the subject. It was also found that the elaboration of the state of the art is nothing other than a documentary investigation that critically addresses a specific topic, which constitutes an obligatory step in the process of knowledge construction. Further research on the subject is required, since it is still difficult to answer the question: is the state of the art only about analysis of accumulated knowledge or the search for new senses of knowledge?.
