Proposal for a University Social Responsibility model for the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí

Abstract

The current globalized world requires that society can improve the quality of life, which is why universities with social capital, sustainable human development, and social participation play a relevant role in meeting these social objectives and as a strong support in solving social problems. The research question on: can a university social responsibility model applicable to the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí be built, ¿considering the importance of its performance in society and the impact it generates? the objective of this research is to propose a University Social Responsibility (RSU) model for the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí. The importance of social responsibility applies to all organizations, considering their impact on society, the environment, and community development, causing collateral benefits in innovation processes based on the legitimate expectations of society. The proposed model has four impacts: teaching, research, outreach, and management. Concluding that an own model of university social responsibility will allow the institution to present a report of the activities that are carried out today in terms of social responsibility, which allows showing the community the commitment that the university has had with society and that it be allowed to continue with the development of activities to support the community, the environment, and the economic sector.
